Venteux & The Best Restaurants on Michigan Avenue

Chicago’s Michigan Avenue is a veritable goldmine of culinary and cultural wonders.

Among other things, it’s home to the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago Water Tower, Millennium Park, and the Magnificent Mile, a famed shopping mecca. It’s a great street for tourists and locals alike with plenty to see and do.

Did we mention that Venteux is on Michigan Avenue, too?

Recently, we were featured in an Eater roundup entitled “WHERE TO EAT AND DRINK NEAR THE MAGNIFICENT MILE IN CHICAGO.” It got us inspired about our most excellent street and all of the fantastic places to eat in the vicinity.

The Best Restaurants on Michigan Avenue

It’s no secret that Michigan Avenue has a ton of amazing restaurants and eateries.

The question is … where should you go?

Please, let your mood and your appetite dictate the direction. There are so many incredible meals to be had…

Aster Hall is one essential stop along your Michigan Avenue foodie journey. This collection of food vendors on the fifth and sixth floors of the 900 North Michigan Shops is definitely not your average food court. You’ll find gourmet burgers, salads, tacos, sandwiches, and so much more.

For a truly breathtaking experience, treat yourself to a visit to the tony The Signature Room at the 95th.

Perched high atop the John Hancock Center, the Signature Room is a Chicago landmark. Let’s face it, most people are here for the view: this venue offers unrivaled skyline views of the Windy City. Pro tip: there’s a bar too, if you don’t feel like committing to an entire meal!

Much closer to earth, you can enjoy a dirty ol’ dog of a meal at Portillo’s, an esteemed purveyor of the legendary Chicago-style hot dog. This local chain, which has a location just off of the Miracle Mile, is beloved by locals and tourists alike – in addition to the flavorful dogs, don’t miss their dreamy milkshakes and desserts.

Of course, no visit to Michigan Avenue would be complete without a visit to Venteux…

Visit Venteux on Michigan Avenue in Chicago

Yep: Venteux is one of EATER’S TOP PICKS ON MICHIGAN AVENUE. Here’s what they had to say: “It’s been a while since a French restaurant made waves in Chicago, but that’s what Venteux is attempting to do inside the historic Carbide & Carbon Building. Chef Don Young is a native Chicagoan with Michelin experience at Temporis in West Town. He brings a vibrancy to modern French food with playful spins on classics. There’s also a rooftop bar.”
