Flexing our mussels at Venteux

At Venteux, we invite you to roll up your sleeves and flex your mussels! We’re not talking about getting swole here… we’re just excited about our different mussel offerings that will tickle your tastebuds. Do you know what’s so great about mussels? You can flavor them in a million different ways, and they cook very quickly, with minimal seafood smell. The cooking process fills your kitchen with the aroma of whatever ingredients you put in the poaching liquid—not the smell of low tide. Whether you just want a plate of bivalves served with smoked ricotta, harissa, and fennel, or are looking to share a seafood tower with your group, we’ve got you covered.

What mussel offerings are on the menu?

If you’re looking for an entrée, then we’ve got a simple, yet elegant mussel platter served with smoked ricotta, harissa, and fennel.

But if you’re looking for something a little more involved, we have our Fruit De Mer section on our menu that mixes it up a bit.

We first have our grand platter, featuring oysters, mussels, clams, shrimp, lobster, and king crab. And if that’s not enough, we have the larger version, which we refer to as our Venteux Tower.

What’s a good drink to have with mussels?

Historically, white wine goes very well with white wine. While there are no rules, the consensus is that crisp and dry varieties compliment the flavor of mussel dishes. Unoaked Chardonnays and fruity Sauvignon Blanc such as Sauvignon de Touraine will match well, too. At the end of the day, it’s all a matter of taste, but a white wine is an excellent choice to start with.

Bring your friends

We think it’s time you bust out of your shell, flex your mussels, and have a dinner that you won’t forget with friends, family, or even a date! If you’re at the Pendry Hotel Chicago on business, or just passing by our storefront for the 100th time this week, it’s high time you stop in for a sophisticated, yet relaxed dinner at Venteux Brasserie, Cafe, and Oyster Bar. See you soon.
